My Whiskey Shelf is a collection app. Every bottle you own recorded properly — distillery, style, cask, what you paid and where it came from — the sets you are quietly working through, and one considered answer to the question you actually have at nine in the evening: which of these should I open?

What it does
Four things, done properly
Built around the way a whiskey collection actually behaves: bottles come in and stay, most of the shelf is sealed, and the good notes are the ones you wrote down at the time.

The shelf, bottle by bottle
Distillery, style, origin, age or the year it was distilled and bottled, cask, independent bottler, strength and size. Then the part you will be glad you wrote down: what you paid, where you bought it, who gave it to you and why. Grouped by style, by origin or by distillery, and filtered down to what is sealed, what is open and what is running low.
There is no barcode scanner, and that is deliberate. Not one of the 1,963 whiskies in the catalogue behind this app carries a barcode, so a scanner would have nothing to resolve against. You type the bottle in, or you find it in the catalogue and correct whatever it got wrong. You are the authority on your own shelf.

One answer, not a list
A shelf of thirty bottles is a decision you did not want to make. The app makes it: one bottle, with the reason attached. You have not poured this in a while. It is still unopened. It is one of your highest-rated. It is already open, so finish what you started. It is nothing like what you poured last. Ask for another and it will give you another.

Pours worth remembering
Log one when it is worth logging: neat, with water, on ice, long, or in a cocktail. Nose, palate, finish, a rating, and how much of the bottle is left afterwards. The log is private, it is optional — the shelf works perfectly well without it — and it is what makes tonight’s suggestion get better than a coin toss.

Sets, and how far in you are
A shelf is not a list. These are the sets collectors actually chase, filled in from what you already own, showing how far in you are and what is still missing. Nine of them to start with:

What it will not do
There is no drink-by date. That is the point.
Every other app in this family has a clock in it, because every other one has real physics behind it. Vermouth oxidises. Coffee falls off its peak. Wine has a window that shuts.
Whiskey has none of that on a home shelf’s timescale. The Scotch Whisky Association says in writing that whisky does not mature or deteriorate in glass, and blind triangle testing on opened bottles has found detection at chance level. So there is no oxidation clock here, no “opened eight months ago” nudge, and no reason invented to make you drink something.
On an app about spirits, a manufactured sense of urgency is a consumption nudge wearing a feature’s clothes. The collection is the reason to come back instead.

This is not an import, a sync or an integration you have to set up. My Bar Shelf and My Whiskey Shelf read and write the same inventory, so a bottle you own is one bottle, in one place, under one account.

Distillery, cask, bottler, the year it was distilled, what it cost and where it came from, how much is left to the percent, which sets it completes, and every pour you have logged against it. The things a collector keeps and a cocktail app has no use for.

That bourbon shows up in your bar inventory and starts unlocking cocktails immediately. My Whiskey Shelf will tell you which classics your whiskies already cover — an Old Fashioned, a Rob Roy, a Penicillin — and hand you over to My Bar Shelf for the rest of the build.
Search by distillery, name or bottler, filter by origin or by peat, and add what you find to the shelf in one tap. The catalogue is derived from Systembolaget’s public product listing. Where a price is shown it is Swedish retail, printed as a fact about the bottle: there are no buy links, no shop, no affiliate revenue and nothing on this page or in the app is for sale.
